How do you know if your drinking enough water? on average the body needs between 2 & 3 litres a day! some of us need more and some need less.

Well, lets start by saying our body is around 60% water, although babies and children can be as much as 75%, this is why consuming enough water is detriment to our health.

There are many links and lots of research suggesting various health conditions occur when we are not consuming enough fluids.

some common issues are headaches, constipation and other digestive problems, urinary Track infections, kidney stones, dry mouth and skin, fatigue, difficulty focusing and muscle cramps.

If you continue to restrict the body in this way, your health conditions can become more serious; like high blood pressure, brain damage, heat injury or worse, seizures or kidney failure.

On a lighter note, drinking or sipping (the correct way to drink) plenty water daily will help you to feel energised, focused, improve your physical performance, enable better brain function, can help with weight loss, digestion and overall kidney health, preparing you to be ready for whatever your day throws at you.

Children need to drink up to 2 litres a day, I know it sounds like a lot , considering that are so much smaller the a fully grown adult. The reason for this is because they are still growing and tend to be much more active, physically and mentally.

Now! Lets look at the types of beverages as a society we consume on a daily basis. In the UK, 62% of us drink soft drinks and only 19% of us rely on drinking fresh water and herbals teas. I find this quite shocking, no wonder so many of us suffer from so health problems.

Soft drinks, caffeine and alcohol contain properties that actually dehydrate the body, when you consume these beverages, you will probably find that you pass a lot more water when you go to the toilet.

Its so important to consume even more water when drinking soft drinks to continue to keep the body functioning well....

I know some people find drinking water boring.... So! Did I, but the more you drink it, the better it tastes, the more your body will crave it. If you still can't get the hang of drinking water, add fruit or cucumber to add some flavour.

I hope this helps you have a better relationship with water and your body.
