Stress is a difficult emotion to avoid, we all experience it at various times in our life, no matter our age, but finding a way to manage this, is our responsibility.
It can impact us in various ways and lead to skin complications like eczema, psoriasis, hives, acne and rosacea.
Prolonged stress can weaken our immunity, increasing the aging process (thanks to a hormone called: Cortisol - it has positive and negative responses to the body) by breaking down our collagen, affecting the skins elasticity which leads to wrinkles and more.
Stress can cause inflammation in the body, as well as the our protective barrier. It can accelerate and manifest into various health conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases like high blood pressure, heart issues, hypertension or even stroke.
Autoimmune diseases is another way in which the body can react to stress, causing rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or inflammatory bowel conditions and gastrointestinal problems, like diarrhoea, IBS, constipation and ulcers.
As we know, stress is associated with mental health and if we don't find a healthy way to manage it, it will more then likely lead to headaches, migraines, anxiety or depression.
Other symptoms you can experience is muscle tension, pain or spasms, because the body is tense and extremely unsettled.
Whatever the ailment, It's safe to say, stress can cause many of problems for us, so finding better ways to manage this is so important for our overall well being.
